Barbara Algie



Barbara Algie has been writing humorous poetry for many years. Her previous publications are ‘Zino – The Cat who thought he was Somebody Else’ and ‘Raunchy Rhymes’.  She has poems and a winning story in a children’s album ‘Magic in the Air’ and is a regular contributor to the  NZSPCA Quarterly magazine. A serious poem ‘The Anzac Poppy’ was published in an Overseas Anthology.
Her outside interests include  painting, golf and horticulture and she was awarded the MBE by Her Majesty the Queen in 1970 for her work in a British office in Auckland. She is a member of Mairangi Writers and the International Writers Workshop.
